How do I wire a cordless phone system with 2 phone numbers?

In my office, I have two phone numbers. Both lines are currently in an Avaya PBX system. I want to get rid of the PBX and you go to a 2-line cordless 6th 0 System DECT phone. Do I have two phone lines to run the basic wireless phone?

I am not familiar with your phone system, but yes the only way to have both phone lines on the same cordless phone is to connect both phone lines to the base. There should be two input jacks for the two lines, then two cables will work.
If there is only one jack on the base, it will have to be a four wire jack and you will need a 4 wire telephone cord. Wire a RJ 11 jack with the two lines and connect the telephone cord from the RJ 11 jack and then to the cordless base.

    wire line 1 to green/red (blue/white)
    wire line 2 to yellow/black (orange/white)

if you are getting rid of the system remove the lines from the system, and find out what station (extention) you want to connect the DECT phone, then just wire line 1 + 2 as mentioned above… (there should be no need to do any rewiring of the jack, everything should be able to be done right from where your existing phone system is at…
